Osteopathy

Restore balance and harmony to your body through therapy
precise and gentle manual operation.

What is Osteopathy?

A manual therapy based on precise palpation techniques, grounded in a deep knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

This specialty aims to identify areas of the body (bones, muscles, organs, etc.) with restricted mobility. Using their hands, osteopaths treat these restrictions to restore the body's balance.

A science that restores to all structures their capacity for movement, allowing the body to regain its harmony and self-regulation .

Understanding the Origin of the Pain

When the body can no longer adapt to the stresses placed upon it, compensations occur. This often manifests as acute pain which, over time (more than 3 months), can become chronic and lead to further injuries.

It is therefore important to consult an osteopath in order to prevent and avoid these injuries , but also to understand the real origin of the problem.

For example, shoulder pain isn't always simply localized. It can be related to an old ankle sprain which, through muscle chains, has altered your posture. This adaptation can influence the position of the pelvis and spine, thus creating compensations in the body.

Through a series of tests , the osteopath will identify the factors influencing your pain. The treatment will therefore be not only localized, but holistic, in order to address the root cause of the problem.

A Complementary Approach

Osteopathy recognizes the need for a medical examination or diagnostic tests, when indicated.

I work in collaboration with your doctor or any other healthcare professional involved in your care.

This approach can be beneficial regardless of your age, occupation, or symptoms.

Procedure for a Consultation

An osteopathic consultation takes place in several stages, including a complete interview , an assessment of the body's mobility and an appropriate manual treatment .

After the Session

The body needs time to adapt to the adjustments made. This can take 3 to 7 days and requires a lot of energy. It is therefore common to experience physical fatigue, aches and pains, and sometimes a resurgence of

pain in the first 48 hours. To minimize these symptoms, it is advisable to:

  • Stay well hydrated (helps eliminate accumulated toxins)

  • take some rest, take it easy

  • avoid overly rich meals

Depending on the reason for consultation and the patient's state of health, 1 to 3 sessions may be necessary to overcome their reason for consultation, on a case-by-case basis.

In all cases, 1 to 2 sessions per year are recommended, even in the absence of pain, in order to maintain the condition

health (3 to 4 in athletes).

For pediatric appointments, it is advisable to bring the child's vaccination record to the first visit. Furthermore, all pediatric appointments require the presence of a responsible adult for the entire duration of the consultation, until the child reaches the age of majority.
